using search engines google images and Pinterest I used key words to generate ideas already on the market place to inspire and spark creativity.
Through out this journey of design and prototype a lamp for a friend and family member I will be using the double diamond framework. I have completed the initial discover phase which is about exploring the challenge to identify problems and opportunities and to completely understand the project I am undertaking. In comparison, the Define Phase is an analysis phase which directs you towards actionable tasks.
I have completed my discover phase by completing multiple interviews with the source as well as a contextual inquiry. As part of the define phase I will analyse the outputs from the discover phase in to groups.
Highlight interesting quotes and group findings into themes
my findings I found were grouped into shape of the lamp, interactive and the activities. I want this to be a fun design that is a representation of my clients needs and wants. I want it to be a fun shape, interactive and provide some sort of fun from it. this isn't going to be a basic desk lamp but an adventure for everyone that uses it.
some interesting findings I found were silhouette lamps! I loved the idea of black and white organic imagery on your bedroom wall. its like old school finger puppets! galaxy lamps a coloured projector. I know Luke isn't fond of the dark so a highlight that can double up as a lamp would be pretty awesome as well. I want to take this thinking into my ideation to ensure I create pleasing sketches for my clients.
